day 3 of feeling like i need to vom, and i need something interesting to pep me up!
NEOPOLIS! CURRENT AND FORMER MEMBERS! this game is fucking massive and, all jokes aside, pretty fucking epic. the premise was like a petri dish in a warm dark place, and the germs of creativity could flourish, multiply and evolve (gross metaphor is gross). there have been some basic ideas (vampires! superman-powers!) and there have been creative twists on the expected (were-sloth! van helsing...twins?!!?!?). there have been epic fucking backstories (kidnapped through childhood, forced cyborg conversion) and complex genre mixings (laser powers-turned-werewolf, ghosts come back to life!). NOT EVEN TO MENTION THE FUCKING GENIUS 'INSPIRED BY' THAT HAVE COME INTO THEIR OWN!!! (batman! zatanna! jayne cobb, danny ocean omfg). neopolis has amazing fucking characters is what i'm saying.
BUT EVEN STILL, with over 150 characters, there are architypes i wanted to see! so tell me, neopolis, what did you hope to see over the game, but didn't happen?

ok i didn't finish my list, but there is some. i am tired, and i have an interview today at 4 that i dont even want to go to, but i do hope i get the job, and i DO hope they take my requested starting pay of $15. that would be siiiick.

I get to make Rachel Maddow and Lou Dobbs say whatever the fuck I want. Like Maddow referring to grassroots anti-meta sentiment as astroturfing put on by major corporations, and Dobbs saying part of the reason he left CNN is to pursue metahuman threats to the American people.

dear lungs,
everyone should be allowed moments of indiscretion and failure. to not allow that would be to heap impossible standards on people and their body parts. but your failure is simply unacceptable. it has been several days, and you have yet to regain control of yourself. your inaction and refusal to pull yourself out of this funk is unacceptable, hurtful and rude.
you may think that you are only hurting yourself, but your selfish actions are affecting those around you. by refusing to do your duty, coughing has been a problem, and you are not alone in the suffering. The throat is raw, and the abdominal, are an unrecognized victim of your refusal to cooperate with the rest of the body. Muscles are sore and fatigued. Oxygen levels are lower, slowing the brain.
there are sufferers outside the boundaries of your own body. with each cough, other people are distracted from their work. with each cough, other people think your body is riddled with gross diseases and that your body should be quarantined alone on an island with no radio and left their to rot. dramatic, yes, but when it comes down to it, lungs, it is all your fault.

A couple of things!
- My folks are coming into town to visit today! This never happens, but I just graduated university (!!!) so they figured they could come down and take me to lunch or, you know, other things parents do. They'll only be here a couple hours but "a couple hours" in Zeleny time can mean anything, SO I might not be around too much!
- I feel like this conversation pretty accurately represents my feelings about the Dread opening:

Dear friends, I need your help.
I'm not really all that into the occult, but for an app I'm working on, I need to start looking into a lot more than just the normal things like vampires, werewolves, and the Loch Ness monster. However, I know that many of you know a bunch of stuff (esp you Neo people and your Magics and Gothics srsly you impress me [wtf is an áńt’įįzhį, Endischee?] or any of you with your comic books).
So if you could give me the names of random supernatural shit for me to look up, I would be forever grateful. Legends, creatures, cursed items, etc etc. Whatever it is, I may need it, because I am fail at this. I mean, I'd never heard of a chupacabra before this year.
